Ahmad Shah Massoud, also known as "Lion of Panjshir" resembles the resistance of Afghan people against Red Army in 1980's. He was born in 1953. He graduated from Engineering from Kabul PolyThechnic University. He joined the guerilla movements to fight the post royalty regimes, who were not independent.
Ahmad Shah Masoud, organized and led the resistance against the Red Army occupation in Panjshir. Hi stronghold, never surrounded to the enemy, and inspired all the fighters in the region. His heroic resistance in Panjshir, won him the title of the "Lion of Panshir".
Two days before the September 11 terrorist attacks, he was attacked by two suicide bombers. He was taken to a hospital in Tajikistan. He passed away two days later. May he rest in peace.
